Auditing – U.S. and International

In addition to our national auditing practice, the Firm supports EHS audits and other regulatory programs internationally.  Typically, the Firm teams with in-country resources to provide a thorough and comprehensive review.  Our international auditing approach is designed to ensure that all applicable international, country and local legal requirements are identified and evaluated during the audit – even when local personnel indicate that there requirements may not be enforced.  The purpose is to identify legal obligations and the risks they raise.  Most international auditors focus their attention on EHS Management systems rather than legal requirements.  While management systems can be supportive, they often do not incorporate the many applicable detailed legal requirements.  Consequently, international audits are most reliable and effective when a Firm member is part of the audit team to help guide and challenge local auditors and personnel to critically review all applicable requirements.  However, because logisitcs can make these audits more expensive, we also coordinate with our extensive international auditor network as a secondary alternative. We have audited throughout North America, South America,  Africa, Australia, and Asia.
