DaVita, Inc. Data Breach Investigation

On Behalf of | May 1, 2025 | Firm News |

According to Davita, Inc.’s April 12, 2025 filing with the Security and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), the dialysis company (with more than 2,600 dialysis centers in the U.S.) became aware of a ransomware incident on April 12, 2025. Bleeping Computers reported the attack has been claimed by Interlock ransomware gang and data was allegedly stolen from DaVita. Often, these ransomware attacks result in access to elements needed to steal individuals’ identities. These elements include personally identifiable information (“PII”) and (“PHI”) including patients’ names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, address, email addresses, driver’s license numbers, diagnostic information and treatment information, health insurance information, and more. A DaVita spokesperson told Bleeping Computers on or about April 24, 2025, “… we will notify any affected parties and individuals, as appropriate.” If you or someone you know receives a notification letter or you believe you may be potentially affected by the breach (e.g., you received or currently receive treatment at a DaVita facility), and would like additional information about your legal rights, you can contact Goldenberg Schneider, LPA by calling 513-982-1569, sending an email to [email protected] or completing the “Contact Us” form to the right.
