Biography

Cynette is an Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor and Compliance Manager with over 35 years of experience in environmental compliance, implementation and auditing of EHS and Quality Management Systems, and in driving pollution prevention and sustainability practices in manufacturing, and non-manufacturing sites.

Cynette is a subject matter expert in Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems. She is a lead auditor for Environmental and Quality Management systems. She managed ISO 14001 Implementation for multiple sites, culminating in successful certification audits, and continued EMS improvement.

Cynette’s environmental regulatory and site management experience extends throughout 11 states of the US and reaches into Canada and Mexico.

She has expertise in regulatory requirements including waste, wastewater, air and Spill Response. She has developed procedures / plans including SPCC, SWPPP, Site Assessment, Remediation Closure, RCRA Waste and Used Oil, Disaster Preparedness, RCRA Emergency Contingency, ODS/CFC and emergency generator management among others. She has assessed environmental risk impacts of changes in manufacturing processes and areas including demolition, reconstruction, equipment installation and associated notifications, permitting changes and remediation.

Her safety expertise includes Hazardous Materials / Hazard Communication Program, Emergency Response and Contractor Safety. Cynette is an effective trainer, providing environmental regulatory and sustainability training and best practice communications at all organizational levels.

Cynette is passionate about Environmental Stewardship, promoting sustainability in company and community. She has demonstrated success in pollution prevention, developing and implementing creative recycling and reuse actions to achieve and maintain Landfill Free status and Zero Waste goals while generating revenue and maximizing cost avoidance. She has implemented wildlife habitat gardens which have been certified to Wildlife Habitat Council and National Wildlife Federation standards. She has long been active in environmental outreach in her community and is currently the Chair of her town’s Energy and Environmental Conservation Committee.

Cynette earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at General Motors Institute, now Kettering University and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering at University of New Haven, CT. She has been a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) since 1995.
