Biography
Jeff’s practice includes class action and complex civil litigation with an emphasis on consumer protection. He practices in the following areas: consumer fraud and defective products, insurance coverage (including long-term care insurance), personal privacy and data breach, antitrust, personal injury, toxic torts, pet food contamination, and pension litigation.
Jeff served as lead and/or co-counsel in numerous successful multi-million dollar complex civil cases throughout the United States, including: (1) Ford F-150 Spark Plug and 5.4 Liter Engine Defect Litigation, (2) Enzyte Consumer Fraud Litigation, (3) Mercedes Diesel Emissions Fraud Litigation, (4) Continental Casualty Long Term Care Insurance Litigation, (5) VA Data Theft Litigation, (6) City of Cincinnati Pension Litigation, (7) Ford and Nissan Throttle Body Defect Litigation, (8) Navy Federal Credit Union TCPA Litigation, (9) Deloitte Data Breach Litigation, (10) Auto Parts Antitrust Litigation, (11) LeafFilter Product Defect Litigation, and (12) Acura RDX Infotainment Litigation. Jeff presently serves as lead or co-counsel on: (1) Progress Software Data Breach Litigation, (2) Volkswagen Atlas Wiring Harness Defect Litigation, (3) CNA Insurance Group Policy Premium Increase Litigation, (4) Norfolk Southern East Palestine Train Derailment Litigation, (5) STRB Pension Litigation, (6) CDK Global Data Security Consumer Litigation, (7) Infosys McCamish Systems Data Breach Litigation, (8) Kia & Hyundai Vehicle Theft Litigation, (9) Mid-America Pet Food Contamination Litigation, (10) Christ Hospital Pixel Litigation, and (11) Acura RDX Rear Windshield Defect Litigation.
Jeff also served as Special Counsel representing the State of Ohio against the Tobacco industry and was part of the litigation team that achieved an unprecedented $9.86 billion settlement for Ohio taxpayers. He also served as lead counsel on the In re Consolidated Mortgage Satisfaction Cases involving twenty separate class actions that resulted in a significant Ohio Supreme Court decision defining key aspects of Ohio class action law and affirming the trial court's class certification.
Jeff earned three degrees from Indiana University: a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1988 (Phi Beta Kappa); a Master’s of Science in Environmental Science in 1994; and his Juris Doctor in 1994. Jeff has practiced in all levels of Ohio trial and appellate courts as well as other courts across the nation, and is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio and multiple federal district and appellate courts listed below. Jeff is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Cincinnati Bar Association.
