Biography

Ted has years of regulatory legal and technical knowledge and in-plant experience as an environmental engineer, safety professional and attorney.  He employs his technical background and experiences into a thriving EHS auditing, compliance and legal practice, which includes multi-media EHS compliance auditing as a mainstay.

As a certified IRCA EHS auditor, Ted has audited facilities in nearly every business sector throughout the United States and in more than 25 countries.  He has performed gap analyses for the automobile and auto parts manufacturing industry, battery production, foundries, stamping facilities, wire assembly, utilities, metal finishing and electroplating, electrical component, paper coating, can coating, printing, health and beauty care, pharmaceutical, research and development, pulp and paper production, chemical manufacturing, food and beverage, other heavy manufacturing industries, a variety of waste treatment, recycling and disposal facilities, and corporate social responsibility audits in China, South Korea, India, Mexico, Ireland, and Italy.

In addition, Ted has been responsible for a broad array of corporate and industrial plant environmental and safety compliance programs including air and water pollution permitting, emissions monitoring and testing, hazardous waste management, underground storage tank installation, closure and corrective action, industrial ventilation design and installation, wastewater treatment plant operations, waste minimization studies, noise control design and installation, noise monitoring, compliance auditing, emergency response and contingency plan preparation, employee training and regulatory reporting, and has developed complete safety programs.

Finally, Ted’s legal and technical EHS background provides a significant advantage in representing clients in their defense against enforcement actions.  Using these skills, Ted can skillfully negotiate to reduce or remove agency orders, citations, and penalties.  He can also support complex purchase and sales agreements in merger and acquisition activities.
