On or about November 16, 2021, New Jersey Brain and Spine discovered certain files on its computer network had been encrypted. The criminal activity may have resulted in access to patient’s personal identifiable information (“PII”) including names, addresses, date of birth, email addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, financial account information, debit or credit card information, driver’s license numbers, and medical information. On March 20, 2022, New Jersey Brain and Spine notified over 92,000 patients of the breach via letters and an announcement on its website.
