On May 26, 2022, Aon PLC submitted notice of a data breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. According to the notification letter being sent to the 119,636 affected individuals, an unauthorized party gained access to certain Aon systems at various time between December 29, 2020 -February 26, 2022. The access was not discovered until Aon PLC identified a cyber incident on or about February 25, 2022. Notification letters began to be issued to affected individuals by Aon PLC on or about May 27, 2022, and the letter states Social Security and driver’s license numbers were compromised by the breach.
