According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, from March 11, 2022 – March 14, 2022, an unauthorized party gained access to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital’s system. The incident was discovered on or about April 19, 2022, and the incident may have resulted in access to patient’s personal identifiable information (“PII”) including names, SSNs, DOBs, contact information, medical record number, and medical history information. On May 19, 2022, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital notified nearly 423,000 patients of the breach via letters and an announcement on its website.
