AFNI, Inc. Data Breach

AFNI, Inc.’s computer system was accessed by an unauthorized party impacting 31,650 individuals in Texas alone.  According to a report that AFNI, Inc. submitted to the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the compromised information included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government issued ID number (e.g. passport, state ID card) financial information (account number, credit or debit card number), medical information and health insurance information.  A similar report was submitted to the Maine Attorney General and it stated 261,449 individuals were affected, and the information acquired included name and other personal identifier in combination with financial account number or credit/debit card number (in combination with security code, access code, password or PIN for the account). In AFNI’s notification, it’s stated an unauthorized party gained access to AFNI, Inc.’s system on or before June 7, 2021, and the unusual activity was detected by AFNI, Inc. on June 7, 2021.
