Convergent Outsourcing Data Breach Investigation

On June 17, 2022, an unauthorized party accessed the network and servers of Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. exposing personally identifiable information (“PII”) of 640,906 individuals. Convergent Outsourcing is a leading debt collector for businesses in the following industries: telecommunications, utilities, banks, cable companies, and financial service providers. The breach was discovered on June 17, 2022, and the Notice of Data Breach was mailed to affected individuals on or about October 26, 2022. According to the Notice of Data Breach, the exposed “PII” included their names, social security numbers, contact information and financial account numbers.
