Toast, Inc. Data Breach Investigation

Toast, Inc. is a tech company that provides point of sale (“POS”) services to restaurants including payroll services. Between June 30, 2025 and July 17, 2025, an unauthorized party accessed Toast’s systems and gained access to sensitive personally identifiable information (“PII”). The PII included social security numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and financial account numbers used for direct deposit. To date, one Toast client, a restaurant, has provided notice about the breach to its employees. That notice was dated September 4, 2025.
