AdaptHealth Corp. (“AdaptHealth”) is a publicly traded medical equipment company. It recently experienced a data security incident, potentially exposing the sensitive information of an undisclosed number of AdaptHealth customers.
According to a Form-8K AdaptHealth filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 2, 2026, a threat actor contacted the company on June 15, 2026. It claimed to have obtained data from AdaptHealth’s systems. AdaptHealth has since confirmed that some data—including a stored password file associated with insurance billing—was exfiltrated from its systems. The company also disclosed that the threat actor accessed certain external electronic health record system portals. Personally Identifiable Information and Personal Health Information may have been compromised in this data breach.
