Gordon-Darby, Inc. (“GDI”) is a provider of government services specializing in the vehicle emissions inspection and Fish and Game license sales industries. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (“TPWD”) lists GDI as its current license sales contractor. TPWD recently disclosed that its licensing vendor experienced a data security incident, potentially exposing the sensitive data belonging to over 3 million Texas hunting and fishing license customers.
On an undisclosed date, Texas Cyber Command discovered a cybersecurity incident involving the TPWD license system vendor handling the sale of hunting and fishing licenses. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor may have obtained certain Texas hunting and fishing license customers’ Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”). The compromised PII includes, but is not limited to, driver license information, passport numbers (if provided), email addresses, phone numbers, and residential addresses.
