World Acceptance Corporation (“WAC”) is one of the largest small-loan consumer finance companies in the United States. WAC recently experienced a data security incident, potentially compromising the information of over 230,000 people.
On or around August 24, 2026, WAC discovered suspicious activity within its network environment. WAC consequently launched an investigation, and the investigation revealed that some individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license information might have been subject to unauthorized access/acquisition on or around August 24, 2026.
