California Cryobank LLC Data Breach Investigation

California Cryobank LLC (“CCB”) is a sperm bank and serves as a resource for frozen donor sperm, private semen cryopreservation, egg and embryo storage and artificial insemination guidance. Because of an April 20-April 21, 2024 breach of CCB’s network by an unauthorized party, individuals’ personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”) was compromised. The compromised information includes names, Social Security numbers, financial information, medical Information, and health insurance information. Nearly a year after the breach, CCB started notifying the individuals affected by the breach in a March 14, 2025 mailing.
