Goldenberg Schneider is currently investigating the Klarna browser extension and its alleged interception of content creators’ commissions. When an individual makes a purchase while reading a content creator’s blog or social media post, the content creator deservedly earns a commission. It’s been alleged, however, that the Klarna browser extension steps in during the check out process, places a coupon on the purchase, transferring the commission credit to Klarna. From a technological stanpoint, this is accomplished by the Klarna extension browser’s replacement of its affiliate cookies and tags for those of the content creator. If you are a content creator using affiliate links in your blog or social media posts and have noticed missing or reduced commission payments and would like more information about your legal rights, you may contact Goldenberg Schneider, LPA by calling 513-982-1569, sending an email to [email protected] or completing the “Contact Us” form to the right.
