Highmark Heath is a health organization of insurance and healthcare. The organization is made up of Highmark Blue-Branded Health Plans (Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Highmark Blue Shield, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Western New York, and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Northeastern New York), Allegheny Health Network, United Concordia Dental, HM Insurance Group, enGen, and Helion.
Highmark Health experienced a data breach that compromised its customers names, social security numbers and possibly enrollment information e.g., group names, identification numbers, claims or treatment information. Examples of treatment information includes dates of service, procedures, prescription information, claim numbers, financial information, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. The breach which occurred between December 13 and December 15, 2022, was discovered on December 15, 2022. The affected individuals, believed to be 300,000, were sent notification letters dated February 13, 2023.
