One Brooklyn Health (“OBH”) Data Breach Investigation

One Brooklyn Health is the co-operator of Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, Interfaith Medical Center and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. From July 9, 2022, through November 19, 2022, One Brooklyn Health’s computer systems were accessed by an unauthorized actor. “OBH” did not suspect the breach until November 2022. The 235,251 victims of the breach included employees, their spouses, dependents, beneficiaries, and patients. heir personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”) was put at risk. The compromised “PII” and “PHI” includes the individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state identification numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, medical treatment information, prescription information, medical diagnosis or condition information, and health insurance information. OBH“ began notifying affected parties on or about April 20, 2023.
