Apria Healthcare is “one of the nation’s largest providers of home healthcare products and services” including sleep services, COPD care, wound care, respiratory medicines and diabetic equipment. On May 22, 2023, Apria Healthcare began issuing letters to 1,869,598 individuals whose personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”) was exposed when an unauthorized party accessed their systems. The access occurred between April 5, 2019 – May 7, 2019, and between August 27, 2021- October 10, 2021. Apria Healthcare learned about the access on September 1, 2021. The exposed “PII” and “PHI” included personal, medical, health insurance or financial information, and in some limited cases, Social Security numbers.
