On April 17, 2023, Point32Health, the parent organization of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, identified a cybersecurity ransomware incident that impacted their Harvard Pilgrim Health Care systems. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care has more than one million members in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Connecticut. On May 23, 2023 the company began issuing letters to individuals whose personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”) was exposed when an unauthorized party accessed their systems between March 28, 2023 and April 17, 2023. The exposed information included: names, physical addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, health insurance account information, Social Security numbers, provider taxpayer identification numbers, and clinical information (e.g., medical history, diagnoses, treatment, dates of service, and provider names). According to the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care website, you may have been impacted if you are a current or former member of Harvard Pilgrim (including individual and family plans purchased directly from HP, state-based exchanges or plans selected through your employer) between March 28, 2012, and present, or if you are a provider currently contracted with Harvard Pilgrim. You may also have been impacted if you are a current or former member of Health Plans Inc. between June 1, 2020, and present.
