Progress Software’s MOVEit Transfer Investigation

On Behalf of | Jun 8, 2023 | Firm News |

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released a security advisory concerning Progress Software’s file transfer software, MOVEit Transfer. Progress Software is a U.S. company with its headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts. Already, tens of thousands of employees of British Airways and Britain’s BBC have had their personal data exposed because of the vulnerability. The threat is real to U.S. organizations as well: the majority of MOVEit Transfer customers appear to be in the United States. Concerns are not limited to U.S. organizations that utilize MOVEit Transfer; rather, the concerns trickle down to their employees and customers. Hackers use the acquired information to trick the organization’s employees and customers into providing more information that can be used to hack/create accounts. Some of the tricks include suspicious emails, phone calls, emails and messages about resetting passwords, missing deliveries, the need to act immediately, and receiving compensation. As news develops about companies affected by the MOVEit Transfer, Goldenberg Schneider will update its website. Should you receive a notification that your personal information was compromised due to Progress Software’s MOVEit Transfer and would like additional information about your legal rights, you can contact Goldenberg Schneider, LPA by calling 513-982-1569, sending an email to [email protected] or completing the “Contact Us” form to the right
