Harris Center for Mental Health and Intellectual and Development Disabilities/Progress Software MOVEit Data Breach Investigation

A vendor of Harris Center for Mental Health and Intellectual and Development Disabilities (“The Harris Center”) use of MOVEit Transfer resulted in the compromise of nearly 600,000 individuals’ personal information and protected health information. MOVEit Transfer is a file transfer software produced by Progress Software. The personal and protected health information included name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, health insurance information, and protected health information. Progress Software discovered a vulnerability in its MOVEit software on May 29, 2023; The Harris Center learned their patients’ information had been compromised on June 23, 2023. The Harris Center began issuing letters to affected individuals on August 17, 2023.
