Sovos Compliance has supplemented its July 13, 2023 notice to the Maine Attorney General (“AG”) about a data breach. Originally, Sovos Compliance reported social security numbers of 18,513 individuals had been compromised due to the company’s use of Progress MOVEit file transfer software: software deemed to have a vulnerability on May 29, 2023. A recent notice filed with the AG’s office indicates the number has jumped to 215,114 affected individuals. The affected individuals are employees of companies for whom Sovos Compliance provides services: Allegis Group, Barrett Business Services Inc., Delta Dental of Iowa, GreenSky, and Midland States Bank. Notification letters were mailed to the individuals on August 23, 2023.
