MassMutual Ascend Life Insurance Company

Tens of thousands of individuals are receiving notification letters from Mass Mutual Ascend Life Insurance Company (“MassMutual”) and Pension Benefit Information, LLC (“PBI”) about a breach of their personal information. The breach of information resulted from a vulnerability in Progress Software’s MOVEit file share tool: a tool utilized by PBI, a vendor of MassMutual. Progress Software discovered the vulnerability in its file share tool on or about May 29, 2023, and MassMutual was informed of the breach on or about June 23, 2023. The personal information included individuals’ names, social security numbers, dates of birth, contract or policy numbers, and zip codes.
