Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago aka Lurie Children’s

On or about February 1, 2024, Lurie Children’s experienced a cyberattack. It’s reported that Rhysida, a ransomware group, breached the hospital’s systems and is now offering to sell “exclusive data” which was stolen from the hospital on the dark web. Details concerning the incident (such as the types of stolen data) have not been revealed but often these events result in the exposure of personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”). This is particularly concerning because the exposed “PII” and “PHI” likely belongs to children and could set them up for a lifelong risk of having their identities stolen. If you receive a notification that you or your child’s PII or PHI was compromised due to the breach of Lurie Children’s systems and you would like additional information about your legal rights, you can contact Goldenberg Schneider, LPA by calling 513-982-1569, sending an email to [email protected] or completing the “Contact Us” form to the right.
