WebTPA Employer Services, LLC (“WebTPA”) Data Breach Investigation

WebTPA provides administrative services to benefit plans and insurance companies. According to a notice posted on WebTPA’s website and notifications submitted to various state attorney generals’ offices, an unauthorized party breached WebTPA’s network between April 18 and April 23, 2023. The company, however, did not learn about the breach until December 28, 2023. On March 25, 2024, WebTPA notified its customers, namely benefit plans and insurance companies, of the nature of the compromised personal information (“PI”). The “PI” included name, contact information, date of birth, date of death, Social Security number, and insurance information. It’s expected that individuals whose PI was compromised will be receiving notices shortly.
