Infosys McCamish Systems (“IMS”) Data Breach Investigation

Infosys McCamish Systems (“IMS”) has been providing software and services to the life insurance industry for over 22 years. Between October 29 and November 2, 2023, the systems of “IMS” experienced a data breach that allowed an unauthorized actor gain access to personal information (“PI”) of more than 6 million individuals. According to a notification found on the “IMS” website, the “PI” included individuals’ Social Security Number, date of birth, medical treatment/record information, biometric data, email address and password, Driver’s License number or state ID number, financial account information, payment card information, passport number, tribal ID number, and U.S. military ID number. IMS began notifying affected individuals on June 27, 2024.
