Kootenia Health Data Breach Investigation

Kootenia Health is an Idaho based medical referral center with a main hospital in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. On February 22, 2024, Kootenia Health experienced a data breach that compromised the personal information and protected health information of its employees, employees dependents, and patients. The breach was discovered on March 2, 2024 and notifications were provided to affected individuals on August 12, 2024. The compromised information included name, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license or government-issued identification number, medical record number, medical treatment and condition information, medical diagnoses, medication information, and health insurance information.
