Axis Health System (Axis) Data Breach Investigation

According to a post on Axis’ website, the Colorado health system is investigating a breach to determine whether patients’ personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information was compromised. Considering Axis’ investigation and an October 11, 2024 ransom gang threat to release Axis patient data on the dark web, it’s surmisable the breach was related to a ransom attack. A statement on Axis’ website states it will notify affected individuals if it’s determined that patient data was impacted.
