Anna Jaques Hospital Data Breach Investigation

Anna Jaques Hospital is a hospital located in Newburyport, Massachusetts. On or about December 25, 2023, an unauthorized character gained access to its systems exposing personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”) of 316,342 patients. The “PII” and “PHI” included patients’ Social Security numbers, demographic information, medical information, health insurance information, driver’s license numbers, financial information, and other personal or health information provided to the healthcare facility. Individuals affected by the breach were sent notification letters nearly one year after the breach: on or about December 5, 2024.
