New Era Enterprises, Inc. (“NEEI”) Data Breach Investigation

Between December 9, 2024 and December 18, 2024, New Era Enterprises, Inc.’s (“NEEI”) network was breached by an unauthorized party, and the breach was discovered on December 18, 2024. The effects of the breach are far reaching in that “NEEI” is made up of several entities including New Era Life Insurance Company, New Era Life Insurance Company of the Midwest, Philadelphia American Life Insurance Company, and Life of America Insurance Company. Personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”) of Independent agents, “NEEI” employees, policyholders and beneficiaries was compromised during the breach. The “PII” and “PHI” includes names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, health insurance policy numbers, Medicare identification numbers, and data related to medical treatment or diagnosis. On February 11, 2025, “NEEI” began mailing notification letters to the affected individuals.
