Anne Arundel Dermatology Data Breach Investigation

Anne Arundel Dermatology (“AAD”), founded in 1974, is a healthcare provider with over 100 locations across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic. On July 11, 2025, AAD reported a data breach of its systems that occurred between February 14, 2025, and May 13, 2025, to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. According to the report, this breach exposed the personal health information (“PHI”) of 1,905,000 patients, both former and current. This PHI includes, but is not limited to names, addresses, birth dates, medical information, health insurance information, and “other personal information.” According to AAD, breach letters began to be mailed to victims on or around June 27, 2025, potentially too late to protect any stolen PHI.
