The Alcohol & Drug Testing Service (“TADTS”) Data Breach Investigation

According to its website, The Alcohol & Drug Testing Service (“TADTS”) is an “an industry leader helping companies develop a Drug-Free Workplace.” Some of its business concentrates on federally mandated testing for the transportation, marine, aviation, pipeline, and oil and gas industries. On or about July 4, 2024, TADTS experienced a significant breach of its network by an unauthorized character and the breach resulted in compromising individuals’ personally identifiable information (“PII”) and protected health information (“PHI”). The PII and PHI included name of individual; address; Social Security number; driver’s license number; government-issued ID number (e.g. passport, state ID card); financial Information (e.g. account number, credit or debit card number); health insurance information; and more. On July 17, 2025, TADTS started mailing notification letters to victims of the breach.
