Farmers Insurance Data Breach Investigation

On May 30, 2025, Farmers Insurance (“Farmers”) learned about a breach of its vendor’s network. Reportedly, the vendor was Salesforce whose network had been breached on May 29, 2025. Farmers database was in the vendor’s network and this resulted in exposing 1.1 million individuals’ personally identifiable information (“PII”). The exposed information included Farmer’s customers’ names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, and/or last four digits of Social Security numbers. Nearly 3 months after learning about the breach, Farmers began notifying the affected customers on August 22, 2025 in a mailing.
