American First Finance LLC Data Breach Investigation

On May 31, 2024, American First Finance LLC, a leading credit/financial services company headquartered in Dallas, TX, experienced a large data security incident. The breach was not discovered until June 28, 2025, over a year later. According to a report made to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, at least 689,000 victims’ personally identifiable information (PII) was affected. The PII may include, but is not limited to, names, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers, financial account information, etc. The company began notifying affected individuals on July 28, 2025.
