Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation Breach Investigation

On Behalf of | Oct 6, 2025 | Firm News |

Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation (“Brightstar”), formerly IGT Lottery, is a leading lottery operations service provider that provides technology to 80% of the world’s largest lotteries. On October 3, 2025, Brightstar reported a breach of its internal systems to the Maine Attorney General’s Office. The report disclosed that Brightstar discovered on November 17, 2024 that the personally identifiable information (“PII”) and personal health information (“PHI”) of over 100,000 customers had been exposed. According to Brightstar’s Notice – which began to be distributed to victims on October 3, 2025 — the affected PII included, but was not limited to, names, contact information, dates of birth, government identification documents, Social Security Numbers, financial information, and health information. It is unclear why Brightstar did not begin notifying affected consumers of the breach until almost one year after the event, possibly too late to protect their information. If you or someone you know receives a notification letter about the data breach and would like additional information about your legal rights, you can contact Goldenberg Schneider, LPA by calling 513-982-1569, sending an email to [email protected] or completing the “Contact Us” form to the right.
