California Casualty Indemnity Exchange (CCIE) Data Breach Investigation

California Casualty Indemnity Exchange (CCIE) is a San Mateo, CA-based insurance company primarily providing coverage to healthcare member/employee groups. An unauthorized, third-party actor accessed CCIE’s network from September 3, 2025 to September 8, 2025. During this time, the unauthorized person copied an undisclosed number of CCIE’s files. These files include clients’ names and sensitive information such as Social Security number, driver’s license or state identification number, date of birth, tax identification number, and/or financial account number. CCIE discovered this data breach on November 5, 2025. They began sending out notification letters to impacted individuals on November 19, 2025.
