Wel Companies, Inc. (“Wel”) Data Breach Investigation

Wel Companies, Inc. (“Wel”) is a nationally operating trucking company based in De Pere, Wisconsin. On January 30, 2025, Wel experienced a breach of its internal data security systems that was not discovered until March 28, 2025. This breach impacted the personally identifiable information (“PII”) of 122,960 employees, customers, and clients of Wel. The compromised PII includes, but is not limited to: names, driver’s license numbers, and Social Security Numbers. Unfortunately, Wel did not report the breach or begin mailing letters to impacted individuals until November 18, 2025, nearly 10 months after the initial incident.
