CoVantage Data Breach Investigation

CoVantage Credit Union (‘CoVantage’) is a financial institution with several branches across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. On November 26, 2025, CoVantage notified the Maine Attorney General’s Office of a breach that occurred on August 14, 2025. A third party vendor—Marquis Software Solutions—experienced a security incident, resulting in the CoVantage data breach. The breach jeopardized the personally identifiable information (‘PII’) of at least 160,000 former and current CoVantage customers/employees. The PII impacted by the breach includes, but is not limited to: Names, Addresses, Dates of Birth, Phone Numbers, Financial Information, and Social Security Numbers. CoVantage and Marquis began sending notification letters to affected individuals on November 26, 2025.
