University of Phoenix (“UoPX”) Data Breach Investigation

The University of Phoenix (“UoPX”) experienced a data breach from August 13, 2025 to August 22, 2025 that compromised the personally identifiable information (“PII”) of 3,489,274 UoPX students, staff, and suppliers. The breach resulted when an unauthorized party gained access to UoPX files due to a vulnerability in an Oracle software platform. The breach was discovered on November 21, 2025 and it compromised the following types of PII: names and contact information; dates of birth; social security numbers; and bank account and routing numbers. On or about December 21, 2025, UoPX began sending notification letters to affected individuals.
