On December 10, 2025, Planned Parenthood of North California (“PPNorCal”) was notified by a third-party clearinghouse vendor, TriZetto Provider Solutions (“TPS”), of a data incident affecting all of its locations. PPNorCal provides women’s health services at locations across Northern California, all of which use TPS’ systems. TPS, which is headquartered in Earth City, MO, services numerous hospitals, health centers, and physician’s practices across the country. According to the notice released by PPNorCal and TPS, internal systems were breached in November 2024 for an undetermined amount of time. The breach was discovered on October 2, 2025 and jeopardized the personally identifiable information (“PII”) and personal health information (“PHI”) of potentially thousands of patients and employees. Affected PII and PHI may include, but are not limited to, patient and primary insured names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers, health insurance member ID numbers, health insurer information, and information related to dependents. PPNorCal and TPS did not begin mailing written notice of the breach to affected individuals until January 5, 2026, over a year after the initial event.
