North East Medical Services (“NEMS”) is a community health group with 32 locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas, Nevada. It experienced a data incident in 2025, potentially exposing sensitive patient information.
On October 19, 2025, NEMS detected unusual activity on its third‑party managed service provider, United Layer’s network. NEMS initiated an investigation of the data incident and concluded an unauthorized individual may have accessed an undisclosed number of patients’ Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) and Personal Health Information (“PHI”). The compromised patient data includes, but is not limited to, first names, last names, social security numbers, and medical information.
