Kaplan North America, LLC Data Breach Investigation

Kaplan North America, LLC (“Kaplan”) is an educational services company that provides a multitude of academic, business, training, and support resources to over 1 million individuals, and thousands of businesses and universities globally. From October 30, 2025, through November 18, 2025, Kaplan experienced a data infiltration event on its internal servers. Unfortunately, this breach was not discovered until February 21, 2026, four months after the initial incident and possibly too late for affected entities to protect their highly sensitive personally identifiable information (“PII”). According to Kaplan’s Breach Notice to its customers, which began to be mailed on March 17, 2026, PII jeopardized in the breach includes, but is not limited to, names, driver’s license numbers, and Social Security numbers.
