Columbia Bank Data Breach Investigation

With over 350 locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, Columbia Bank is one of the largest banks in the western United States. Columbia Bank recently experienced a data security incident, potentially exposing sensitive information belonging to some Columbia Bank customers.

On an undisclosed date, the bank discovered that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain Columbia Bank applications. An internal investigation revealed that the unauthorized party accessed certain applications and information between October 2, 2025, and December 22, 2025. This incident may have compromised some Columbia Bank customers’ Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”). The breached PII includes, but is not limited to, names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account numbers.
