Thermos Ejecting Stopper Recall Investigation

by | May 8, 2026 | Firm News |

On April 30, 2026, Thermos L.L.C. recalled Thermos Stainless King Food Jars with model numbers SK3000 and SK3020, manufactured before July 2023 and all Thermos Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles with model number SK3010. Over 8 million units are involved in the recall. Recalled units were sold at Target, Walmart and other stores nationwide as well as online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com and Thermos.com between around March 2008 and July 2024.

The U.S. Customer Product Safety Division describes the associated hazard, saying, “If perishable food or beverages are stored in the container for an extended period of time, the stopper can forcefully eject when opened, which can result in serious impact injury and laceration hazards to the consumer.” To date, Thermos L.L.C. has received 27 consumer reports describing being struck by stoppers ejected from the now recalled containers. Three customers report permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.
