Medical Computer Business Services, LLC (“MCBS”) is a medical business management company headquartered in Augusta, Georgia. It recently experienced a data security incident, possibly exposing the sensitive information of over 295,000 South Carolinians alone.
On September 25, 2025, MCBS discovered that an unauthorized individual may have accessed its network environment. An investigation revealed that certain files were potentially acquired without authorization between on or around September 22, 2025 and September 26, 2025. The compromised files may have contained Protected Health Information and Personally Identifiable Information including, but not limited to, names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, health plan beneficiary numbers, health insurance policy numbers or subscriber identification numbers, other health insurance information, medical history, mental or physical conditions, medical treatment information, and diagnosis information.
