Flagstar Bank Data Breach

The social security numbers of Flagstar Bank’s customers were compromised when the Bank’s corporate network system was breached. The system was accessed on December 3 and December 4, 2021 by an unauthorized character, and the breach was discovered on June 2, 2022. Flagstar Bank began notifying its customers of the breach by letter beginning June 17, 2022. According to a notification filed with a state Attorney General’s office, 1,547,169 individuals were affected by the breach.
