MHMR Authority of Brazos Valley (Tx) Data Breach Investigation

MHMR Authority of Brazos Valley is a mental health and intellectual and developmental disability service provider for individuals who live in the following Texas counties: Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties. On July 28, 2023, MHMR Authority of Brazos Valley began issuing notification letters to employees and patients whose personally identifiable information and protected health information was compromised due to a breach in its network. The breach occurred on November 5, 2023, and it reportedly exposed 83,245 individuals’ names, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, medical record numbers, Medicaid or Medicare numbers, medical treatment and/or health insurance information.
