Starmount Life Insurance Co./Progress Software MOVEit Data Breach Investigation

532,000 insureds of Starmount Life Insurance Co. are expected to receive an August 3, 2023 notification letter informing them that their personal and protected health information has been compromised due their use of Progress Software’s MOVEit file transfer. Progress MOVEit vulnerability was discovered on May 29, 2023, and Starmount Life determined their insureds’ information was affected on June 4, 2023. The information included names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, medical information, health insurance claim information and policy information.
