TD Ameritrade/Progress Software MOVEit Data Breach Investigation

On August 8, 2023, TD Ameritrade began providing notice to more than 61,000 clients about a breach that occurred between May 28 and May 30, 2023. The breach was the result of TD Ameritrade’s use of MOVEit Transfer: a file transfer software produced by Progress Software. Because of a vulnerability in the software, an unauthorized party was able to gain access to personal information of TD Ameritrade clients. The personal information included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, government identification numbers or other personal identifiers.
